So think of it The simple user interface seamlessly allows for quick field programming of targets with up to four firmware images. I don't want to slam them because the compiler is nice and easy to use, their technical support is very fast in responding one of the fastest I've seenbut unfortunately, their documentation is not their selling point.
When this message appears, there's nothing else that can be done, not even saving your files. I just thought I'd share this error because it caused a lot a frustration. Not surprising it didn't work The error was so severe that I hadn't realized that my simple lines of code were making the compiler crash and make it go in an unrecoverable state. It's mostly pointer arithmetic issues: I couldn't even save my files!!
They got me to re-install the compiler twice, do this do that etc. As compilr the bug crashing the computer The files I was using were created with the wizard and contained the default lines.

Sat May 12, 9: Since '97 CCS has always been helpful in resolving 'issues' for me. I encountered a problem with compilers 4. Instead of compilwr giving an error that the pin can't be mapped, it crashes the compiler, but the big fault is trying to do things without reading the data sheet first.
I do this with 4. I know they will act upon it. I had the same reservations but I've found 4.

Unfortunately, this issue would have easily been avoided if CCS would better document their stuff. These threads have some tips on modifying code written for older compilers so it works with the current version. The unit will supply up to ma at V to power target devices.
Seriously, most 24 chips do have the UART re-mappable, your's doesn't.

CCS IDE C compiler products provide a unique Profiler Tool to track time and usage information for use on functions, code blocks, as well as receiving live data from running programs. Unfortunately the 'error checking' on pin select is abysmal. However select the HJ, and the pins are listed directly with pin numbers, telling you that the pins are not re-mappable. I then sent them my files and they also got the problem.

So, in the other case, perhaps if I would have had a compile error saying "Cannot assign pin to this PIC type", then the datasheets would have been of use
